İpek Acarlı began her education at Pennsylvania State University (USA) and completed her studies at Istanbul Bahçeşehir University (Turkey) and as a visiting student at the University of California, Los Angeles (USA), focusing on Human Sexuality, Language Development, and the Psychology of Addiction. She has received training in Expressive Arts Therapy, Schema Therapy: Models and Techniques, Psychological Intervention Techniques for Trauma, the Eight Neurodevelopmental Domains and Their Impact on School Problems, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy.
She completed the Family and Couples Therapy Program (700 hours of theoretical and practical training, accredited by the European Family Therapy Association-TIC) at IFTI Psychotherapy. Throughout her career, she has worked with abused children at UPenn in Philadelphia, served in the corporate consulting department at the Behavioral Sciences Institute, and worked in the psychosis clinic at Çapa Medical Faculty under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Alp Üçok. Additionally, she worked as a translator for the 2020 American Psychiatric Association Psychiatry Congress.
She has also conducted workshops at educational institutions such as Robert College and Terakki Foundation Schools. Her work focuses on General Systems Theory, Systemic Family Therapy, and Pragmatic-Experiential Family Therapy (PET-C). She continues her academic studies in the Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health program at King’s College London (UK), Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Neuroscience. Currently, she practices both in Bodrum and online.
